Nigeria rated fifth in land mine casualty in the world

Land mines casualty rate in Nigeria is now fifth in the world according to international campaign on land mine disposal .

More than 100 people have been killed by land mine in the last three months and hundreds more wounded or parts of their bodies amputated by the mines planted by the insurgent group Boko Haram .

Mines laid by Boko-Haram and other Insurgency groups in Nigeria have killed over 480 people and injured more than 640 people in 2016 between the month of January and August alone .
