Afghan's minister for women affair fled to Australia in fear of her life .

Hasina Safi, Afghanistan's acting minister for women, left the country in the final days of the evacuation from Kabul airport

Afghanistan's minister for women in the now-toppled government says she disguise her face in order to evade Taliban .

Hasina Safi said she disguised her face to evade the Taliban and made it to Kabul airport in the final days of the evacuation.

Ms Safi, who became Afghanistan's acting minister for women in May 2020 and served until the fall of Kabul, revealed to the ABC's The World Today program that leaving was the most difficult decision of her life.

"[It was] the hardest, hardest day," she said.

"This would be my life's most difficult situation and decision.

"I have been crying the whole week, I can't stop. If you see my face, you will not understand who it is

She said that in the days before her eventual departure, Australian forces attempted to help her leave the country.

"The military of Australia called me and they really tried to coordinate for my evacuation, but I could not because I was very, very afraid to take the decision to [take] the local taxi," she said.

"The Australian government also called me and they told me to send [them] the list [of staff to] the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"This was the first international partner who asked for women who worked in government and directly from Ministry of Foreign Affairs."
